About the Capriolo – Lightweight Walking Boot
Inspired by the classic men’s approach shoe, the Capriolo is the ideal lightweight walking boot. Low profile thanks to a soft but strong Italian suede, high breathability and waterproofing with a full Sympatex® H2Out membrane and a Vibram Friction® outsole offering traction you can trust.
While lightweight and low profile, the Capriolo is made with quality in mind. With 30 year’s experience in artisanal boot making, the Capriolo is still very much a Calzaturificio Diemme country boot, bringing with it the quality and durability in which our boots are known for.
The Cabriolo is a lightweight walking boot wnhich offers the protection, comfort and functionality of a classic hiking boot. The highly flexible Vibram® Friction outsole paired with an impact absorbing micro midsole provide ground feel while maintaining high levels of grip and wear resistance. Paired with the dynamic breathability and waterproofing of a Sympatex® membrane, the Capriolo makes for a truly versatile hiking boot ready for any weather conditions. This will keep you dry while ensuring you’re kept cool and comfortable, in the style of a men’s approach shoe.
Combined with a tough rubber toecap for protection, a ventilated leather lined memory foam footbed and an extended super secure toe to ankle lacing system. You’re set for a long day in the country in comfort and support.
With the warmer months comes its own set of unique requirements for a country boot. The classic leather clad of some of our other Calzaturificio Diemme boots are designed for use in some of Europe’s toughest conditions through boggy moors and mountains. The Spring, Summer and Autumn often requires a lightweight walking boot, a more breathable and easy wearing option as the temperatures soar. A place in which the Capriolo comes into its own.

Fitting
Thanks to an extended lacing pattern which laces all the way down to your toe. The Capriolo is very versatile in its width adjustment. When you first fit your Capriolos, make sure to fully loosen off your laces all the way down to the toe. This will allow the width to settle to the shape of your foot for the perfect fit.

Delivery & Returns
Size Exchange
It can often be hard picking out the right size for you while shopping online. However we have done our best to put the most accurate UK size to our boots, as they are all made on European lasts.
When you receive your boots, put on your usual boot sock and wear your boots around the house. If you think a different size would be best for you, we are always more than happy to swap them out for a better size. Simply get in touch with the Brandecosse team and we will arrange this for you. Once you have returned your boots, we will ship a replacement pair free of charge.
Boots must be returned in their original packaging and include a completed returns form. Download our returns form.

To return your product, you should mail your product to: Brandecosse Ltd, The Old Bank, 12 Main Street, St Johns Town of Dalry, Dumfries & Galloway, DG7 3UW.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Refunds/Returns/Warranty Claims and Exchanges.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase from Brandecosse, you may return it to us by completing the Returns Slip enclosed in with your order within 14 days under The Consumer Contracts (information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regs 2013 (Distance Contracts). The 14 days starting the day after the day on which the last of the goods come into the physical possession of the consumer or the person that they ask you to deliver the goods. Returned good must be in an unworn and saleable condition for a refund or exchange. Thus meaning, we cannot refund any boots which have been worn outside. Cost of this return to Brandecosse Ltd will be borne by the customer but we will happily send the correct size replacements without additional carriage charges. Please be careful to return the goods in their original box or packaging and we reserve the right to refuse refunds where goods are not returned in a saleable condition. Thank you for your custom.
Warranty Claims
All our boots come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty, which is in place from the moment your boots are delivered. If for any reason you believe your boots have a manufacturer default, please get in touch with the Brandecosse team. We will then request that your boots are sent back for inspection, which will allow us to make a decision on your warranty claim.
We WILL NOT inspect any boot which are sent back in a dirty condition. Boots should be washed down before sending out. We reserve the right to return any pair of boot which are send back in a dirty condition.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Bought them for hiking/working in Sardinia, but used them for dog-walking in the muddy UK first.
So comfortable. Feel like a big pair of trainers. Sturdy, supportive, look good, and decently waterproof.

Just cleaned mine up after two years. Worn probably 2-3 days a week and first choice daily footwear when I’m not in the office (and sometimes when I am). And I have some great shoes to choose from, lucky as I am.
Some slight scruffy wear around the collar but otherwise pretty much as new, dammit. Now I’ll have to wait a bit longer for the blue pair I’ve been promising myself!
Supremely comfortable, though I use orthotics which make a difference, and the soles are a little light for comfort for truly broken or stony ground. But that’s a quibble. If I could only have one pair of shoes for the rest of my days, though, it would be these ones.

I’m on my second pair, my first pair withstood a relentless hammering in the mountains, including an easy (ish) multi pitch rock climb that required a long walk in. Many other lightweight Mountain boots would have given up a long time before these did. Nothing dramatic happened to them, they just wore out after wearing them all day, every day. The sole is grippy on steep wet grass, so they’re great for Paragliding too (despite the top fasteners being hook type – not ideal for this lark as lines can get tangled in them pre launch) I’m only typing this review because I came across it while contemplating buying a 3rd pair, only this time possibly trying a half size bigger as mine have been a little snug length wise, It was never uncomfortable, but sometimes noticeable after a long day. I really can’t recommend them enough, they’re top quality summer boots:)

I don’t always leave reviews but felt that I really should this time! I just bought a pair for hiking in the Greek mountains and then a scrambling trip in New York State through forest, streams, shale and over rocky summits – on both occasions they performed flawlessly. Janes help and sizing advice were spot on and with her recommendation I went for half a size larger than I usually take and they fit like a glove. I’m not overstating but they are possibly the most comfortable footwear that I have worn and this is straight out of the box which I was a wee bit concerned about but blimey was I proved wrong to be concerned – no break in time at all to be honest – sneaker/trainer levels of comfort with a very capable hiking and walking shoe level of toe and ankle protection with very robust waterproof suede. They have just the right balance of trail feel and comfort and propel you along for hours without tiring out your feet. These will be my go to for spring through late autumn hiking (and everyday use too they look great out and about on the town). Incredibly happy with them and highly recommended – the quality is top notch and service from the Brandecosse team was a delight I will certainly be a repeat customer.

Santa brought me a pair of these, in Tobacco (took a few hints but she got there!).
As others have said, these are amazingly comfortable straight out the box. I am very fussy about what I’ll wear on my feet-if they were in any way uncomfortable they would have gone back. They are great. I haven’t worn them on any type of technical terrain, and probably won’t as I will keep them looking as good as they do for as long as possible!
They look so good that my very well-to-do next door neighbour commented on how classy they looked. “Very elegant” apparently :-). Praise indeed.
Worth mentioning is that they are not quite as gingery as they look in the product picture-a plus for me.
This is a first class product from a great company, and I’m now working on getting a pair of walking boots too. Wish me luck!

I bought my boots in May 2021 and was absolutely delighted with them. Comfortable out of the box, light weight, grippy soles and waterproof . They got plenty of use in Donegal, walking obviously but also gardening and on that tricky stretch of tarmac to Patsy Dan’s pub. Early November this year on my first serious walk since the summer I noticed the right boot had ceased to be waterproof. We had a bit of discussion on the possible causes of this problem and Jane suggested I send the boots back to Brandecosse. About a week later she emailed to say a replacement pair of boots would be sent free.
Companies with a good product will attract praise when things go well but the real test is how they respond when a problem appears; Jane dealt with it superbly so full marks not just for product but also for great customer service.

Having a personal hatred of reviews that start only worn once seem to be good I waited to review my Capriolio’s till I had put some decent wear on them.
Firstly service excellent I’m on my second pair of Brandecrosse boots having the Brontolare as well for Autumn into Winter use, I was concerned with them being to narrow for my wide feet but Jane explained the lacing system down to the toe would allow for this as usual
she was correct, first time on I would say don’t be in a rush get the lacing set comfortably for you and you can forget doing it again.
Now to the wearing I was after a boot that I could wear constantly and be comfortable we go on a lot of trips away in the UK and typically during a day out I was changing boots 3 or 4 times we would stop somewhere interesting walk a couple of miles then move on and as I couldn’t drive comfortably in my old. Lightweight boots I needed a change and these seemed to fit the bill perfectly they seemed to offer trainer comfort in a boot now I don’t wear trainers at all but they are simply the most comfortable boots I’ve owned proved after a full days driving in them then walking along a sandy Welsh beach., scrambling down a boulder strewn one and walking up to blue lagoon in Pembrokeshire then being asked by my better half at 9pm in our accommodation are you going to take your boots off completely forgot I was wearing them.
The use thus far has been as an everyday summer boot transitioning from damp early morning photo shoots to walking around a town then onto a costal or moorland walk including scree and rocks they surprised me with having almost the feel of a climbing shoe on rocks and also standing up well to such terrain thanks to the toecap in summary a fantastic pair of boots

These are quite simply one of the most comfortable pairs of boots which I have ever worn! They fitted like a pair of good, comfortable socks right from the start.
However, that sort of fit doesn’t always make for a great pair of walking boots, but the Capriolos didn’t disappoint when I wore them for a short hike to try them out.
They proved to be just as comfortable in use as they were upon first try-on.
The grip is good, the sole allows some feel but protects against sharp stones and the uppers are supple but surprisingly supportive for what is a relatively short boot.
I have always preferred boots which lace as close to the toe as possible, and the Capriolos reminded me why. I like a wider fit and the lacing system allows me to loosen the boot where I want to. I have a small Morton’s Neuroma and the lacing system allowed me to adjust my right boot just a bit differently to the left one to make for a comfortable fit exactly where I need it.
In short, they’re great and I’m glad I bought them!
They’re maybe not the sort of boot to wear if heading out across boggy moors, but teamed with good gaitors I suppose they could cope with a bit of that.
For light hiking/an approach shoe/dog-walks maybe a bit of scrambling or such they seem near perfect

I bought these Capriolos about two months ago for summer walking and they’ve been used practically every day across beach, forest, hill and whatever else Scotland has to offer.
The quality is the best I’ve seen and not only are they the most comfortable boots I’ve owned they’re possibly the most comfortable thing I’ve ever had on my feet.
I gave them a treatment with the proof & protect spray and they shrug off everything I go through, salt water on Troon beach, crossing a burn or a bog in Argyll and even Glastonbury.
On the strength of these I’ve just ordered a pair of Cervo Rossos for the forthcoming winter and many more to come.
These boot are the best you’ll get anywhere so don’t fanny about, get them.

These are really excellent boots made to a very high standard, they look and feel awesome. I have found them true to size and very comfortable. The lace to toe pattern means that you can wear them a little looser or krank them right up when you need full support. The seem like a lightweight scrambling or via ferrata boot, but they make a perfect lightweight everyday boot for me.
