Outfitter Tales
I am delighted to be invited to introduce our new Show , ‘ Outfitter Tales’ through the offices of the Brandecosse Team. The concept of our new show was to cover the day-to-day activities of the team at South Ayrshire Stalking and Talon Gear and, at the same time, try to educate and cover the ethics of stalking and the importance for and the many benefits of, sound deer management, and explore the full field to fork experience. Alongside this we wanted to show all aspects of managing land, so we intent to include air rifle, game, and rough shooting along with vermin and pest control and to discuss the kit and equipment we use on a day-to-day basis and why it works, or not, for us. We will include interviews with some of the excellent UK companies and their products and give an honest assessment of how the kit performs when in use on an almost daily basis in the field. An example of this is Brandecosse, whom I have been working with for almost two years since I first learnt of them; a small family run company, located close to my home indeed, their boots were developed for and tested in the Galloway Hills. The boots in one guise or another are on my feet out stalking around those very hills most days, so they are most certainly being tested in some challenging terrain and conditions, they have not let me down. It is vital that we get the message across to a wider audience about the huge benefit to our countryside that the stewardship of most folk who are involved in county sports bring. In a modern, social media and device led world one way to do this is via the internet, so here we are, introducing one of the ways we hope to spread the positive, honest and fact led message about what we do– welcome to ‘ Outfitter Tales.’
